Guest Rooms

Our facility is currently open from May 1st to October 1st and by reservations only after October 1st. Check out time is 10 AM and check in time is any time after 3PM. Each guest is treated to a full Continental Breakfast before departure in our private dining room. Breakfast consist of Coffee/Assortment of Teas/Juices/Muffins/Scones/Cinnamon Buns/Homemade Toast/Homemade Jams/ Hot and cold Cereal/etc. Breakfast is served from 6AM to 9AM daily. Breakfast is available to those travelling on an early ferry.

Nursing Aid Room

The Nursing Aid room is dedicated to all the "Nursing Aids" that dedicated many years of service to the people of the Labrador Straits region. These aids made Grenfell Louie A Hall their home during their time of employment with the Grenfell Mission. This option was much more feasible and economical at the time, as opposed to living off site. This room is a shared bath.

Mary Fowler Room

The Mary Fowler Room is dedicated to the memory of Mary Fowler, known locally as Aunt Mary at the time. A cook at the Dennison Cottage, Mary was originally from Newfoundland and moved to Labrador and married in the area. This room, is also known by many of our regular guests as the "Ghost Room"!

Louie A Hall was a place of birth and healing for many people living in the Labrador Straits Region. The Nursery Room was the room that was actually used for children that were admitted. Children usually slept on the same level as the staff, as they would be better supervised during the evenings.

This room is dedicated to Nurse Mary Taylor who moved to Labrador from her home in England to work in 1953. She remained in Forteau as a Nurse for 30 years until a new health facility was opened in the region. Nurse Taylor born over 3 generations of people along the Straits and has left a lasting impression on the lives of many. This room overlooks the ocean

Nurse Skelly came from Bellfast, Ireland in the early 1960's and worked with Nurse Taylor. At this time the clinic was fortunate to have 2 full time Nurses on staff along with nurse’s aids and traveling doctors, as well as cleaning staff, a cook, and maintenance workers.
